Coolah

Staying at Eileen's was a great half way point, and it gave us a chance to do all the things we'd skipped over in Sydney, well, most of them at least. We even managed to find time for a couple of small hikes in the Goulburn River NP.

All good things must come to an end, so we stuck a pin in our Telstra CDMA coverage map, and set off for Coolah.

The prospect of actually starting the business for real was just a bit much, so we stopped at the nearby Coolah Tops NP. After a couple of days of rain and drizzle, we finally got out to see
On a clear day, you can see the Warambungles....
and enjoy some of the park.
Watch for giant kangaroos....

After a few days fun, we descended into the Coolah Valley to seek our fortunes in Coolah. At first our fortunes were pretty unimpressive - we arrived the same night as the "first decent frost all year". Below zero in the tent just sucks.

After a few days the weather picked up, and so did work. We managed to get enough work to cover the costs of going/being there, and managed to help a few people. Helen even did a couple of days casual teaching at the local high school.

We have discovered who our main competition in this area are - their customers are very forthcoming about them. Indeed, they have been sub-contracted by Dell to fix our laptop. They have had two goes so far, and still no real joy. It does at least seem to crash slightly less often at the moment. (Unfortunately, the same can't be said for 3Dave, who is now recovering nicely after a short stint in ICU.)

While in Coolah, we found a customer who wants a web site. That means we have to develop a web site package that we can sell. That means we need ample 240V power, a comfortable place to work, and easy Internet access.......
