Our friends Bob and Margaret have provided us with a comfortable place to stay while we're in Sydney. Thanks. Watching them endure the same workday grid we recently left, we know why, and are glad, we left Sydney!!! We are NOT having second thoughts about continuing our adventure.
We have completely unpacked the truck, and gone through everything that was in it. There is very little that we have, that we think we can part with. There are a few extra things we need to put in.
The truck has been serviced. The additional solar panels have been fitted. Assorted other minor modifications have been made. Kevin has done the tax paperwork. The DELL laptop has had open CPU surgery AGAIN!!!
The DELL laptop has proven so unreliable that we have lashed out and bought another laptop. For years I've wondered why you can't get a decent cheap laptop. I recently saw one advertised (Highlander, 450Mhz AMD K6-2, 128M, 10G, LCD) for only A$1700. A bargain to good to be missed, but an active screen would be nice. We now await a verdict - which one will die first/next?
We've caught up with lots of people. There are some people we've missed. Sorry about that.
Fred and Annette took us out fishing on Palm Beach.
A pleasant way to spend a warm Sunday morning, and a nice break from our busy schedule.
We stayed in Sydney until Fred and Jenny arrived from Belguim. It was great to catch up with them after so many years, and a shame we could not spend more time with them. We missed a final dinner with them, because some attention seeking looney threatened to set fire to the hotel they were staying in. Such is life.
With the refit & paperwork out of the way, we have set off again. This time we plan to be on the road for a much longer period. We can also afford to be a little more creative in the way we market ourselves....
